CHARACTER INFO
Name: Shadow Milk Cookie
Canon: Cookie Run: Kingdom
Canon Point: End of Beast-Yeast Chapter 8
Age: Very Old. Like, thousands of years older than the Ancients. He's referred to as a primordial hero before his corruption.
Species: Cookie (will be humanized for the game)
History:
A Cookie who grasped the principles of all things in the world and preached them all. Yet, as he accumulated knowledge, he grew weary. The day he realized he could lie without doubt from his followers was the day the Fount of Knowledge became the Master of Deceit.

Personality:
✽ What is your character's main motivation? What drives them and keeps them going?
If asked, Shadow Milk's answer would probably be something along the lines of escaping the tree, regaining physical form, and then with the rest of the Beasts, bringing about an age of despair and chaos. He would proclaim revenge on the Witches for locking him up, and raze the land he was baked to protect. The real answer is that he doesn't entirely know anymore. The entire showdown with Pure Vanilla cracked him open in a way that revealed how broken and distorted his own desires were. The reality is that he is very lonely, and tired of being locked up in a void for eons and would sooner burn the world down before going back. While the desire to get his revenge is a driving force for his actions, his actual wants are in turmoil. Thanks PV!!!
✽ What is their biggest regret? Why?
Not killing PV and taking the jam outright, he never should have entertained their little games as long as he did. He could have had both Truth and Deceit, and now his plans have been set back. Not taking Pure Vanilla's offer of friendship.
✽ What is their worst fear? Their greatest comfort?
Being locked back up in the tree for the rest of eternity and also the horrible realization that even doing everything he possibly could to force PV down his path, he still did not fully buckle under the weight of the soul jam, thus rendering his own fall as not wholly inevitable, but rather a weakness on his part and he haaaaaaates that idea.
His comfort is breaking his toys.Thinking to that moment when their souls were one.
✽ Top three strengths?
Shadow Milk is the Master of Deceit. He has taken the act of lying and turned it into an art form. He is cunning and ruthless and knows how to wield knowledge as a weapon, and to twist it to carry out anything he might try to do, from gaslighting Pure Vanilla into thinking SM had always been with him from his childhood, to orchestrating wars to bring about the destruction of the world from before he was locked up.
SM was once regarded as the Fount of Knowledge, and so carried with him the knowledge of EVERYTHING. While he only has half of the Jam now, and wields Deceit, he is still incredibly intelligent and knows a lot, to the point of being at least semi-omniscient. Even without that omniscience, he is a rapid learner.
Given the opportunity to not be a terrible sociopath, Shadow Milk has talent in teaching, as he was the founder of all the principle schools of magic. He is also the one orchestrating most of the nefarious shit happening in the game, which means despite his everything, he has charisma and makes a good leader. You just have to get past all the shitty clownery.
✽ Top three weaknesses?
While before his corruption, Shadow Milk likely had a love for the people and a genuine desire to teach and guide others, the weight of the power gifted to him warped him. He often refers to others as gnats, insects beneath him, and feels like he simply cannot connect with the common people, fueling his isolation and lonliness. He simply does not care for human life and does not care how many die for him to get what he truly wants, because to him those people aren't even people. They're just puppets or dolls that he can influence to dance at his will. So what if one breaks? There's more.
That said, he is incredibly emotion driven, and even someone has big of a chessmaster as he is, can be completely blinded by this in the moment. In moments of high emotion, like surprise or anger, he's seen to totally drop his act, and react in brief moments of authenticity. PV was able to awaken and defeat him, by feeding him a sweet lie of his own so enticing, even SM couldn't see through it, and it was what lead to his down fall.
At his core, beneath the lies and manipulation, the theater and grand machinations, Shadow Milk is a creature who is deeply, deeply lonely. He struggles to relate to others to the point of becoming alien to most normal cookies, but even so he desperately longs for someone to understand him. He just can't seem to get past needing that on his own terms, through someone he has personally tried to break to be more like him first.
✽ What was their last lie?
"I HATE YOU!"
Inventory: His staff, a deck of tarot cards, and a cake hound that seems to follow him everywhere.
Abilities: Cracks knuckles
Shadow Milk holds the Light of Deceit, the direct opposite to Pure Vanilla's Life of Truth. It is a Soul Jam of immense power and it has been in his hands thousands of years longer than PV has had his. Shadow Milk was given life for the sole purpose of wielding it's whole counterpart (The Virtue of Knowledge), and so he possesses immense magical ability and the creativity to wield it in horrifying ways.
Before he even had a body, and was in the process of escaping the tree he demonstrated having control over reality itself, warping and corrupting the faerie kingdom and it's inhabitants to his ends. Once free and with a body, his domain of deceit became a place of warped reality and time. He could do things like change characters into chess piece and force them to play the worlds scariest games of chess, he could manipulate peoples memories, read minds, conjure up monsters and creatures to fight for him. He has control over something called the Other-Realm which is a pocket dimension, or plane of reality that exists closely to Earthbread that is sometimes called the Dark Side of the Moon. This is the origin of all Dark Moon Magic, forbidden magic, and it's what he specializes in.
He is also the founder of all schools of magic in Earthbread, and so his influence even thousands of years later, is still all over the world. His magical aptitude is second to none.
I'm going to totally nerf him in Sticks. 90% of his powers are going away for now. I'm going to limit what he can do to a few important things:
- He can still float around like an asshole
- He can conjure up minor illusions and effects, like spraying confetti, creating background music to follow you around, making silly effects in the netbooks, pocket glitter
- He can warp reality to a very small degree and ONLY if it's himself. This includes mild shapeshifting, though nothing that can truly conceal him from others. (ex his multiple deceit forms, and also a snake form because I think that's fun.
- He can still use telepathy and read minds, but it's heavily dependent on Mun permission and so may not always work
- Can still use his Jam to see Truth and Deceit in people's souls, but also mun permission required.
- I'm shutting off his omniscience because that is a nightmare to keep tabs on and I am a single tired Jami.
-He is still capable of learning other types of magic from other players if given reason to pursue it.
Him regaining anything beyond this will be dependent on development and also mod permission.
